Local artist Jessica Dalrymple will lead a virtual Botanical Drink ‘n’ Draw on zoom and share her knowledge about both drawing and horticulture.

Participants will learn a traditional botanical illustration technique and sketch live plant specimens. For the virtual class participants will need a pencil, paper (or sketchbook), and a plant specimen; this could be anything from a house plant clipping to a weed from a tree pit. Forage/cut your specimens as close to class time as possible & BYOB, get inspired by this list of classic cocktail recipes!

Please register for the event here, a suggested donation of $10 is greatly appreciated.

This event is presented by the Old Stone House & Washington Park as part of Regeneration in Place, a series of interactive virtual experiences and exhibitions this spring by local artist collectives Environmental Performance Agency (EPA) and Gowanus Swim Society (GSS) that aim to help us find solace in the cyclical beauty of nature, and look critically at our relationships with our environment and each other.

Artists of all skill levels and mediums are welcome to participate in our virtual life drawing session on July 6 from 7 pm – 10 pm.

This free session will feature short and long poses with a clothed professional model. Gather your favorite art supplies and join in the fun!
