The Food Griot, Tonya Hopkins, reflects on history, family and food in honor of Juneteenth 2022!
In the Winter – Spring 2021 season, we partnered with Chef Denzell Washington & Culinary Historian Tonya Hopkins to creating unique food experiences which reflect Brooklyn’s Indigenous, African, and Dutch past.
Using our wood-fired brick oven, Chef Denzell prepared delicious take-home meals with timeless taste. Fascinating food history from Tonya provided diners with context on the eras, places, and peoples who inspired the dishes.
Our neighbors at Good Wine offered discounts on selected bottles to pair with our menus.
