This is acoustic instrumental meet-up focuses on tunes in the following traditions: Irish, English, New England Old Time, French Canadian, American Southern, and maybe even Scandinavian. Tunes are those that are typically suitable for contra dancing or other traditional fiddle tunes. This group is intended to provide a musical home for folks interested in playing tunes with other musicians, learning to play by ear and overall increasing their own musical skill. Mozart for Munchkins creates an interactive and engaging atmosphere in which families can experience and enjoy music! Two-hour round robin songfest featuring the songs that Woody Guthrie sang. Performers include Vincent Cross, Beth Kotkin, Joel Landy, Mike Lee, Nancy Moccaldi, Pinetree, and Steve Suffet. Each is an established artist in his or her own right, and all are longtime Woody Guthrie admirers. This event is co-sponsored by the Folk Music Society of New York. Tickets are $10 at the door.

A construction site comes to life with interactive materials and machines used to construct a surprising project.  This one-of-a-kind performance features digging, lifting, rolling, stacking, measuring, and bulldozing...all the things that 2-5 year olds love best! Come join your neighbors at the outdoor wood-fired oven at the Old Stone House. You can bring any dish or recipe -- from bread to chicken, from cookies to pie. You don't have to share what you bake, but you will find many willing taste-testers! Kids are welcome and generally have a great time. This one-of-a-kind storytelling performance follows a lost toy, Catbear, as he travels through the tunnels of New York City on six different subway lines, looking for his owner. Each train has its own story, and Catbear experiences all the sights and sounds of New York City before landing home again. Interactive and intimate, "Stand Clear of the Closing Doors, Please" is ideal for children ages 2-5. Tickets are available here.
