Arts & Culture
OSH offers a surprising array of performances from both emerging and established artists throughout the year. Indoor events are held in our Great Room, an intimate space with amazing acoustics where audiences and artists can connect in a personal way. And our outdoor space allows hundreds of people to experience professional performances for free. Upcoming events can be found on our calendar.
As an arts incubator, we allow time and space for the creative process and we help our partners become stronger organizations. Artists and arts groups can email info@theoldstonehouse.org for information about working with us.
In addition to arts performances, we host art exhibits and other community events year-round.
Music
Regular music series include:
- Brooklyn Brandenburgers – A small chamber orchestra, formed in 2001 to play the Brandenburg concertos among friends. For more information, email info@theoldstonehouse.org
- Brooklyn Traditional Slow Jam – A monthly acoustic instrumental slow jam that meets on First Wednesdays at 7 pm. Sign up for the meet-up!
Theater
We’re the home to Piper’s Theatre’s energetic afterschool workshop programs during the school year. Our tri-season residency program focuses on theater for young people and their families, including Theresa Linnahan’s Cranky Series and Mozart for Munchkins!
Social History
Contemporary programming that draws on our past creates an engaging and relevant link to the history of the Old Stone House. Join us for our Brick Oven Brooklyn Meet Ups to bake or roast something delicious at our outdoor hearth, or one of our anything-but-ordinary events that have included narrative embroidery workshops, beer and bread tastings, reenactor baseball games, the bi-annual Bike Jumble or the Kings County Fiber Festival.
Make sure you join our mailing list so you don’t miss something wonderful!
