During the pandemic, three flutists from the USA and France crossed paths in NYC and began to serenade their quarantined neighbors in a Park Slope brownstone backyard every weekend. From this chance meeting, the N.Y. Metropolitan Flute Trio was born.
With a remarkable command of their instruments and a shared passion for music, the Trio (Amy Z. Cohen, Paul-Lucien Kulka, & April Klavins) challenges traditional norms of chamber music, delivering virtuosic performances that bring depth and richness to classical and contemporary flute repertoire, including newly arranged works by Paul-Lucien Kulka.
The three-flutes ensemble is an unconventional yet fascinating take on chamber music. Their performances are a beautiful combination of passion and delicacy. The musicians’ distinct personalities merge seamlessly, resulting in an unforgettable musical experience.
Their exceptional talent has not gone unnoticed — they were invited to perform at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in November 2023 as part of the ACMA Passion Through Performance recital, a testament to their growing recognition in the music industry.
Please note that the venue is not wheelchair accessible.
