Join Park Slope Parents and local family performer Suzi Shelton for a series of free, fun-filled musical performances and amazing giant bubbles. The bubbles start at 10 am each Thursday and the music begins at 10:30 am, from September 16 – October 21.
Over the next 6 weeks, Suzi will feature a diverse array of guest musicians including trombone, upright bass and fiddle players at this outdoor concert series for families with young children.
This week, meet bass player Chris Johnson!
Christopher “bassplayaplaya” Johnson is originally from Boston where he studies at New England Conservatory from age 7-24 where he earned his bachelors in music. He then moved to NYC to earn his Masters at Manhattan School of Music. Next month he will be recording a Nina Simone tribute album before his tour with Sphinx Virtuosi and JP Jofre. Follow him on Instagram @bassplayaplaya.
This show is sponsored by the Park Slope Library and Jack & Friends which is presented in celebration of Jack Roberts and his joyful spirit. His friends and family hope you enjoy it.
This series is in-person at the Old Stone House & Washington Park. In the event of poor weather, the performance will be broadcast live from 10:30-11:15 am on the Park Slope Library Facebook page.
