Democracy Now! Exhibit at Gallery GAIA

August 21 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 2:00 pm on Sunday and Saturday, repeating until August 28, 2022

This contemporary art exhibition brings together 25 artists to comment on the concept of democracy from their own unique points of view.
“It’s believed that the origins of democracy can be traced back to Greece during the 6th century B.C. Some believe democratic ideals were practiced earlier: in India, Mesopotamia, and Sparta. Our founding fathers saw democracy as the key for Americans to realize their pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. In this “government of the people”, all constituents are given a voice, which is meant to prevent any particular party, special interest, or individual from wielding too much power.”
Gallery GAIA, 79 Hudson Avenue – Vinegar Hill – Brooklyn
Open Hours: Saturday & Sunday 2 – 7 pm through August 28
