- Free

FREE or $5 suggested donation
All ages welcome!
Come for an artist/curator tour of the gallery at the beginning, or drop in anytime to make some art!
Also a closing event for the current OSH contemporary art exhibition “Multilocational: Artworks by Natalia Nakazawa & Cecile Chong

Meet at in front of the house (weather permitting) or in the 2nd floor Great Room (if rain)

Exhibiting artist Cecile Chong will lead participants in making their own Delft-influenced artwork on paper plates, based on personal narratives and inspired by Chong’s mixed media gallery installation and Dutch tile replicas at OSH. Chong has previously led this workshop with sixth graders from Sunset Park, and some of their work is on view in the gallery along with the artist’s. Participants will leave with their own decorative plates that reflect their cultural backgrounds, neighborhoods, and visions for the future of our communities. We will also explore the educational and healing potential of art at a time of national political and cultural strife.

Curator Katherine Gressel, along with Chong and exhibiting artist Natalia Nakazawa will lead a brief tour of the entire exhibition at the beginning of the workshop, but visitors may stop in at any time. See more information about the exhibition: http://theoldstonehouse.org/event/multilocational-exhibition-opening/

This workshop offers one of the last chances to see the show before it closes on Sunday, June 25.
