Join us to create the 4th Ave Yarn Bomb, a fun, socially-distanced activity to celebrate art and community on 4th Ave in Park Slope and Gowanus! Our 2021 theme will be Protecting the Earth/Climate Change. For our kick-off meeting on August 11, NYT-featured fiber artist Ellie d’Eustachio will teach how to make knitted shapes for yarn bombing.
Crafting sessions (knit, crochet, weave) will continue on Wednesday evenings (5-7 pm) in the North Garden though August and September. Please bring your own supplies.
The yarn bomb will be installed on the weekend of October 2nd-3rd in advance of the Kings County Fiber Festival on October 9. Participants are welcome to participate at home and drop-off pieces in October. Email fofa@parkslopeciviccouncil.org for more information.
The 4th Ave Yarn Bomb is a community collaboration organized by The Old Stone House, Arts Gowanus, Why Not Art, and Forth on Fourth Avenue (FOFA), a committee of the Park Slope Civic Council.
